Dr. Achier Chung Fung Chen is a senior lecturer in Borneo Marine Research Institute (BMRI) in University Malaysia Sabah. Before becoming a senior lecturer in BRMI, Dr. Chung had 19 years field experience working alongside Reef Guardian Sdn Bhd, demonstrating exceptional leadership in the field of marine conservation, education and research. Dr Gary Sigley is a Professor in Cultural Geography in the Faculty of Geographical Sciences at Beijing Normal University. He specialises in research on China’s tea heritage with a particular interest in tea route heritage such as the Ancient Tea Horse Road of Southwest China. This has expanded in recent years to include a project examining the place of China’s tea culture in relation to world tea culture and the possibility of mobilising tea to encourage inter-civilisational dialogue. In this project Dr Sigley also explores how education tourism can be used to assist participants experience connection with heritage, nature and cultural diversity through the medium of tea cultivation, production, distribution and associated cultural rituals and behaviours.

Lau Ching Fong has been working at the frontline of conservation in the Belum-Temengor landscape since 2008, starting with WWF-Malaysia’s Rhino Project followed by the Tiger Conservation Program where he carried out wildlife surveys and anti-poaching patrol work. During this time, he spent a considerable amount of time in the field working with the local indigenous people. He is currently spending Perak State Parks Corporation’s Research Officer, heading the management of Royal Belum State Park including enforcement, community engagement, tourism, as well as collaborating with other stakeholders on wildlife conservation projects. In the past one year, he has been the interim Director for Perak State Parks Corporation. He co-authored a number of scientific publications but his favourite one was a coffee table book titled "Wild Perak: Belum-Temengor", published last year, that captured the essence of this wild landscape.

Stephen Chow, who has at least 16 years of experience in the durian industry, is currently a director of Chow Kai Peng Enterprise Sdn. Sc., and doctorate majoring in Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana, Montana, USA. Dr. Wong is the CEO and the founder of the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, which he founded in 2008 to conserve sun bears through holistic and pragmatic approaches in Sabah. Dr. Wong and BSBCC received numerous awards and recognitions for their efforts in wildlife conservation. He was featured in the book Wildlife Heroes in 2012; conferred “Member-Order of the Defender of State” (Darjah Johan Negeri, D.J.N) by the governor of Penang State, Malaysia, in 2014; awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Sunshine Coast, Australia, in 2016; bestowed the title “My Country Hero” or “Wira Negaraku” by the Government of Malaysia, and “CNN Hero” in 2017. He was also featured as an Everyday Hero” in the March and April issues of Readers’ Digest in 2019 and won the Gamuda Inspiration Award in 2023 among others.
